In 2019 Gatherer was commissioned to produce 10 archive-based short films as part of ACMI Renew, an ambitious $40m revitalisation of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image's (ACMI) permanent exhibition space at Federation Square in Melbourne.

Moving Minds is one of five distinct sections within ACMI's new permanent exhibition that frames major moments in moving image history. Moving Minds leads the audience into the world of factual media: from historic newsreel footage to broadcast TV, documentary, war reporting and propaganda, citizen journalism and video art. It chronicles moments of mass viewing experience that have shaped political, social and cultural movements

Producing content for Moving Minds involved extensive research of footage libraries big and small to strike a balance of coverage of world-shaping events recorded by professional camera crews, to individuals armed with camcorders and citizen journalists brandishing first generation smartphones.
